Welcome to the Vatican Museums – one of the largest museum complexes in the world. Located in the grand and magnificent Vatican Palaces, there are over 7 kilometres of galleries to be seen. The museum’s 1300 rooms house some of the most famous artworks in the world by some of the most famous artists of all time including Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Bernini, Botticelli, Raphael, Caravaggio, Giotto, and hundreds more. In fact, the muesum houses thousands of artworks, paintings and sculptures, and welcomes over 4 million visitors per year.

The museums are composed of several sections:

- the Gregorian Etruscan Museum
- the Pinacoteca
- the Missionary-Ethnological Museum
- the Raphael Stanze
- the Sistine Chapel.

The Vatican Museums are closed on Sunday, except for the last Sunday of the month (no guided tours are available on this day).
